When cutting stones I often start out with a large rock. I then take this rock of several pounds and place it in an auto feed rock slicer that has a 12 inch diamond saw blade. I cut the rock into slabs about ¼ inch thick. Then I cut the slab into smaller shapes, using these smaller stones, I grind, shape and polish each one by hand. Then I wrap them in 14 carat gold filled or sterling silver wire to enhance the natural beauty of the stone. The part I love best about this process is that you never know what you are going to find inside of a rock. Sometimes the stone tells a story, other times it is the amazing beauty of the stone that grabs the eye. My stones are like snowflakes, every one unique in pattern and color; some are so exquisite that it is hard to believe that they occurred naturally.
